Top Favorite 2016 Releases So Far This Year

Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is the Top 10 favorite 2016 releases so far this year. So far I've read 14 books that were released in 2016, though I read 3 of those in late 2015. I guess they still count? Since I haven't read a ton of 2016 releases, and six of them stood out, I'm going with my top 6. These are roughly in order by how much I liked them, and the links go to my original posts about them.

1. The Expatriates by Janice Y.K. Lee

2. The Crown by Kiera Cass

3. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

4. The Guest Room by Chris Bohjalian

5. Wild Swans by Jessica Spotswood

6. Pit Bull by Bronwen Dickey

What are your favorite books published so far in 2016? Are any of mine on your list?

Oooh, I just grabbed Pit Bull last week when I saw it sitting on the new shelf at my library. I'm a sucker for dogs - in fact, I prefer them over most people. Glad to see it made your list!

I don't tend to read dog books, but was very interested since it's pit bull-centric. I was surprised by how much I liked it!

I really want to read Salt to the Sea - I have seen it being featured on several lists this week, so it probably has to be REALLY good :)
Thanks for sharing these and happy reading!

I recently added "Pit Bull" to my to-read list. The villainizing of certain breeds was mentioned in a book I read last year about the Michael Vick dog fighting dogs ("The Lost Dogs" by Jim Gorant), and I'm intrigued to learn more about this phenomenon. Apparently it was German shepherds before it was pit bulls.

"The Expatriates" didn't really grab my attention when it came out, but I've seen it on several lists today. I might have to give it a second thought.
